MIKE THOMA

MIKE THOMA began his professional career in the Légion étrangère in Strasbourg, where he learned the trade of explosive dogs. From 2000 to 2002, he started his missions in East Africa (Djibouti).Together with his dogs, Mike Thoma discovered more explosive mines to defuse than anyone before him, saving the lives of many people. His next mission was to Iraq in 2004, where he discovered a record number of mines and car bombs that could be defused. In 2006, he was sent to the war in Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel. Here, too, he discovered a record number of mines. Since then he has become world famous for his skills and success rate, and in 2010 he was called to Switzerland, where he managed to prevent an assassination attempt. A lifesaver, a hero with his dogs. 2023, Mike Thoma won the price of Accademia Culturale Internazionale Cartagine for social impact, national and international, and the enormous quantity of lives saved.

Shimon Shetreet

Shimon is the President of the International Association of Judicial Independence and World Peace and President of the International Culture of Peace Project. Previously, he has held high public offices. Between 1988 and 1996 he served as Member of the Knesset, the Israeli Parliament. He was a cabinet minister in the Rabin Government and in the Peres Cabinet (1992-1996) and served as senior deputy Mayor of Jerusalem (1999-2003). Shimon was admitted to the Israeli Bar Association in 1969 and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Israel in a number of landmark cases. He was a Member of the Chief Justice Landau Commission on the Israeli Court System, a Founder Secretary General of the Public Law Association (1987 – 1992); and a Judge on the Standard Contract Court (1981- 88). He is past President of the Israeli Chapter of the International Association of Constitutional Law. Shimon holds the Greenblatt Chair of Public and International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, and is past chairman of the Sacher Institute of Legislative Research and Comparative Law. Shimon holds an LL.B., an LL.M., from the Hebrew University and a Masters’ and a Doctor’s degree from the University of Chicago School of Law.

Lance Young is a film producer, financier, and buy-side advisor for various entertainment, media, and gaming companies. His clients include GTCR, Guggenheim Partners, Carlyle, CitiGroup, Kilburn Media, Warner Brothers, Orpheus Interactive, Mutagen Games, Xbox Live, Imagi, 3M, DreamWorks Animation, and Dimension films. Mr. Young is an advisor and board member of Kilburn Media, a media and communications firm specializing in entertainment content. The firm has advised on asset-backed financings of over feature 20 films, including Hacksaw Ridge, Chef, and Sin City 2. Mr. Young is also a partner in Sahara Presents, a joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and Film and TV Studios to bring Iconic IP in the form of spectaculars to the Las Vegas Strip and Caesars’ Casinos worldwide. From 2013-2016, Mr. Young was CEO of Orpheus Interactive which produced narrative games such as Sons of Anarchy and The Fast and the Furious, and exited through a sale to Ubisoft. From 1999-2011, Mr. Young was COO and Head of Creative Affairs and Production for DreamWorks Animation. At DreamWorks, Mr. Young maintained oversight in development and production of films from inception through release. During his tenure DreamWorks released 14 films including Shrek, Shrek II, Shark Tale, Shrek the Third, Bee Movie, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, and How to Train Your Dragon. Before that, Mr. Young wrote and directed Bliss, a critically acclaimed love story for Columbia Pictures. Mr. Young began his career at Paramount Pictures and Warner Brothers where he served as a senior executive or producer on over 30 major motion pictures including Top Gun, The Hunt for Red October, Days of Thunder, Black Rain, The Pelican Brief, and Dennis the Menace. Mr. Young currently lectures worldwide in the area of 3-D production and projection technology. He graduated from Harvard Business School and the USC Cinema/Television program where he subsequently taught as a professor in the Peter Stark Program.

Russ Hiebert

Russ served as a Member of Parliament in Canada for eleven years before returning to the private sector. During his time in office he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Defence and later Intergovernmental Affairs. He also served on the Natural Resources, Finance, and International Trade committees and as Canadian Chairman and Representative on the 53-nation Commonwealth Parliamentary Association. He has held leadership roles in many other international associations and had speaking engagements at the European Parliament and the United Nations. Russ has developed a worldwide network of contacts in business and foreign governments. He has the ability to connect people with key decision makers, joint venture partners and, for the purpose of developing trade and other business opportunities. In addition to an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Russ earned his Law Degree at the University of British Columbia and the University of Sydney, Australia, and practiced as a lawyer at a national Canadian law firm, before completing his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). He has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Education Program and has served as a director on a variety of private and public companies
